ANIMATED DICTIONAY

Here is my final flash piece for the word stretch!

FINAL FLASH VIDEO

REFLECTION:
It was extremely helpful to have such a detailed storyboard to work from. The last time I did this project, I feel like my storyboard wasn't as detailed and it made it difficult to create transitions that made sense. I feel like this time around, my video flowed more because of the time I spent outside of flash. At first, I had trouble coming up with interesting transitions because I find it hard to visualize things in motion. I think next time I will try to push myself more and move away from such horizontal/vertical movement and compositions. I was happy with the timing.. I spent a lot of time working on it making sure everything stayed on screen long enough to read. The last time I did this project I struggled with timing so I am happy with how it turned out. I think it is really important to go into flash knowing what I wanted to do so I want to make sure I have a good plan of action for the next project as well because it made it a lot easier to work through!

Also, here is my updated storyboard:

  1. Timing: At times when you have sentances that have to be read there isn't enough time so I'd slow that down a little overall the timing is a bit fast but if you slow down the fore mentioned parts it should be fine.
Transitions: The overall transitions look great and flow together well their creative and playful I loke them.
Design: Nice and simple color choice the yellow picks up well on focusing on where I need to look. The Type works well the thin skinning letters give off a stretched look. I think you made good use of the space everything looks well planed a little jumpy but still had good flow.

  2. This is very nice Gina! The only instance of timing I would play with is that part with the top scroll. Even so, I wasn't dumbfounded by it but it was the only little source of confusion that I had throughout your piece.
I loved all of your transitions! They were very, 1,2,3 this is what to look at now and they interplay perfectly with your hierarchy. I especially loved the last two frames leading to the play again button, I thought it was a very creative use of space and design elements in motion. In addition, your color palette and typeface choices were excellent. Your use of stage space was also very well done. Your eyes do have to move all over the space, but you give the viewer plenty of time to follow what's going on.
